quality compromise.
I have found that if you change your desktop to 16 bit color, change the N4
apps to force Open G/L to run in 16 bit, and set the textures in the Open
G/L control panel to 16 bits will allow you to run the AA at 2X2 and get 35
to 40 fps. If the destop color is set at 32 bits, then somehow, N4
reconfigures itself to 32 bits if running open G/L. I was not able to find
a image quality in D3D that appeal to me. Here is my apps config that gave
me what I was looking for.
[Graphics]
boardIndex=0 ; Which Display Adapter?
fullScreen=1 ; fullscreen?
lastDesktopBPP=16 ; Reruns config if doesn't match.
lastRendererDLL=rendOGL.dll ; Last renderer DLL selected
scaleUI=1 ; scale UI to driving mode?
softwareCursor=0 ; use software cursor?
windowDepth=16 ; Color depth
windowHeight=768 ; Window's height
windowWidth=1024 ; Window's width
I also changed the rendogl file to 16 bits
There may be a simple way to do all this but this is the process that got me
happy with image/fps
compromise.
