Gp3 has caused an error in DPLAYERX.DLL...

by paulo_paul » Wed, 21 Mar 2001 22:08:16

Updated my GP3 to version 1.13 using the gp3_op_113 winzip executable,
and since then can not start the program anymore.
Every time try to do it the following message comes:
Gp3 has caused an error in DPLAYERX.DLL
Gp3 will now close.
In case keep on having the same problem, restart, bla bla bla.
Hv restarted Nth times and nothing has changed.
Copied other dplayerx.dll from another game, did not help either,
ie that's some coming from the gp3_op_113 upgrade patch that
is causing the problem.
What to do? Reinstal GP3 is the easy answer, but I wanna run it
on version113, so... what to do?

Thanks in advance for the usual helpfull feedbacks.

As crazy as this suggestion may seem, you can just delete this file
dplayerx.dll and GP3 will then work.  Also nothing else will be adversely
affected.  Turst me :)

I got that same error when I tried to use GP3edit on a patched version
of GP3. Are you using GP3edit?
