GPL and modem linking

Hello all,
I was wondering (before I did it) if a mate connects via dial-back server to
my PC via a 56k modem, would the bandwidth be enough to play GPL?
I ask as there's free local calls with BT at the moment, and although we're
not of web racing calibre, we could do this!

just two users you should have ample bandwidth.  You might even try
experimenting with locking your modems at 33.6 to avoid the constant 'best
rate' searching that 56k employs.
Have fun....btw...if you can get around the track without going off every
corner, you're ok with web racing at Vroc.  You certainly won't win.  but
that will be an invaluable training area.

Thanks for the 33.6 tip!
And I think we'll just get good/better at racing first, as we're both petrol
heads we'd be p*ssed off at racing to the back in an on-line game!
Now we've just got to figure out the network setup and away we go!
