How do you do gpl modem to modem? do i need another program or what. How
does the computer know to answer the phone? thanks

Choose multiplayer from the session type, and click the green light.
If you want to join a race choose your modem from the drop down menu (Your
default modem should be listed) and enter the phone number of your host.
When you make the connection, choose the race and you're on your way.

If you want to host, choose "host" then choose your modem from the list
under "Accept Connections Via:"  If you want a password, enter it (although
there's no need to in modem to modem play)
Click on the green light and then set the parameters for the race and choose
the track.   If you want to wait for your opponent to sign in and talk to
you first, click chat.  If you want to go right to the track, just click the
green light and start practice.  He'll join you when he logs on.

Hey... this is a tough one!  Try shouting at your PC when the phone
rings....
"ANSWER THE ***Y PHONE!!!!"  That should work.
