Speedvision and F1

In December (I think), during a Speedvision show recapping the Year in
Racing, they mentioned that, as of that time, Speedvision had not locked
up the rights to broadcast F1 during 2001, but that they were still
"hopeful" of nailing it down.

Does anyone know if they ever secured the rights for this year?  If not,
who will be broadcasting F1 (preferably live) in the US?

Thanks.

The US television rights are still up for grabs.Speedvision did submit
a new bid within the last week or so,going down to the wire.

Hey this is great news...Now Fox and Nascar can buy the rights to
F1 and show a 30 second highlight between pitstops at the Winston Cup
events!  :)

Actually, Fox (a major investor in Speedvision) was showing complete F1
races all last year (same day/tape delay, different announce crew), free on
wild feeds, if you had a Big Dish.

Yeah, I caught Fox's broadcast of the US Grand Prix, which was live , like
Speedvision's.  And I kind of liked their coverage a bit better.  However, I
kind of like watching the race live - most start at 8:00am (EST).  It gets me
going in the morning, and ends at a time where there's plenty of time still
left in the day.

I was watching a show on Speedvision last night, 2-25-01, either
Motorvision, or Speedvision news. It had the same to guys that were on in
in place of Inside Winston Cup last Monday night. They mentioned that they
hadn't secured rights to Australia yet.
That would suck.
