Whoo-hoo!!  Although I do feel sorry for those who can't get Speedvision, it
was really our best hope for live qualifying and races.  Thanks for passing
along the great news!

BTW, if anyone here messes around with RealPlayer (audio and video
streaming), BBC Five Radio -- accessible through RealPlayer -- will be
providing live radio coverage of the race, and (I think) qualifying.
Might be nice to watch Speedvision and listen to BBC Five to avoid the
dreaded Silent Sam Syndrome.

Anyone in the UK have any opinions on BBC Five's commentators?

You'll find that they do not stay with the race for the duration, nipping
off to other important live sporting events of the day occasionally.

Was there a chance that they might not get to show F1 races live?  All
last year, I watched the races LIVE on speedvision.

Yes, this is old news, I watched most F1 events LAST year live on SV.
Qualifying and races for that matter, just had to be sure to be up early
enough on Sundays ;>

As I understand it, the terms were still under negotiation until this
morning. Bernie probably wanted to squeeze out that last penny ;-)

They should get Danny Sullivan. He raced in F1 and is still a great
racer and is very smart with a up beat personality. Sam puts you to
sleep and keep's saying the dumbest things.
Danny left racing to get into broadcasting and went to broadcasting
school, Speedvision should pick him up.

Good news indeed; now, can anyone tell me if FoxSports will again (as they
did last year) broadcast F1 races, through license of Speedvision?

cheers,
David Karr

he proposistioned a Large-Chested female race fan on the air....

Boy, they really took it down to the wire on this one, considering
practice starts tomorrow in Melbourne.
