f1 2002 demo screen problems

by Ian Mars » Fri, 17 May 2002 18:03:40

Folks,

Installed it last night.  After the initial installation, the first
first attempted just rebooted the machine, interesting. The second
attempt started OK, however in the race itself the screen is just
very, very grey with a faint outline of the track and the driver,
anyone seen anything like this?

System:

Windows Me
GeForce 2 (Asus V7100/T AGP)
Athlon 1.3Ghz
Seagate hard drive
SoundBlaster LIVE! 1024
MK Microstar ATX K7TPro2A Socket A

Thanks Ian

I am having a similar problem. I posted earlier but there might not be a fix
since it is only a demo.I can occasionaly get sound but the video never
works right and occasionaly the thing just locks up.

Good luck, I hope you can get it to work.

What driver version are you guys running? The latest 28.32 drivers cleared
up alot of problems for me in WinME. I have not tried the f12002 demo so I
have no idea if it works or not for that.

I think you are the only person in the world using WinME still.

Nope there is at least two of us in this thread alone. For me WinME is way
more stable than Win98SE ever thought about being, and you couldn't pay me
to run XP.

The 28.32 drivers fixed that problem for me. Game looks pretty good so far.

That's me too Eldred, but just plain 'ole 98.........couldn't make me

Well, XP is the NT kernel so you can't expect it to run every game
available. Personally, I have a triple boot with Win98/XP/Linux and find
uses for all three OS's. But I do run almost all my games on Win98 still.

I had a very similar problem... except all I saw was a light blue...if I
entered the demo with an external view I would only see some of the car and
everything else was light blue......

I changed my AGP Aperture size from 256 to 128 in the BIOS and after that it
worked just fine.
