Exactly the same thing happens to mine. Mine, though, only happens if I
leave the pc on for a long time....if I reboot, it will then shut down.

The hard part is finding it.
See if you can do a ctrl-alt-del and bring up the task manager when it
happens. Look at the processes and see what is still there. It's likely
that one of them is the culprit.
I didn't see the operating system mentioned, but if it's Windows 98se, there
is a design flaw in that OS that can make this nearly impossible to fix.
Microsoft never did fix it properly and it can be triggered by just about
anything.
