I sure wish there was an option in the core.ini file to
turn off the sticky walls on the server side.

That would be a huge benefit for league races.

Papy you out there :))

As well as the option to bar driving aids and the ideal racing line.

I have driven about half of the tracks in N2002 now and so far I
haven't encountered any problems with the wall-glue. Sometimes I do
brush the wall, but I immediately back off and try to get away from
the wall again.. just like one would do in real life. And if you only
brush the wall, you are not punished for this.

At which tracks does the wall-glue cause problems for you?

[Speaking with N4 as a refrence as I've yet to get hold of N2002] :

The problem is much much more obvious in online races Andre...   as one
slight brush will slow the car down so much that it becomes a real danger to
others [who are accelerating at full power]..

One track that really show how bad this problem is, is Darlington - where a
visit to the wall *will* happen atleast once a race..

Backing off dosn't help much either.

The bottom line though is that Papy's fix to the problem is a poor one - and
that they should *atleast* allow host's to choose weither they want to
enforce this or not.

Mainly at Darlington where the line is right up against the walls and you
are forced to run a loose setup, and also at Bristol for sheer lack of room.
Otherwise it is not that bad, but the problem makes Darlingon almost
undrivable.

Darlington,

Through 3 and 4 the high line is the preferred route. Its
easy to touch the wall there and get bogged down by the
"Glue" . The biggest problem is if you have a pack behind
you they get caught up in the mess to :(
For pickup races and such the glue is probably the only
solution to stop cheating, but for League and servers that
cater to clean racers its just a drag. ' pun intended'  That's
why it should be an option to disable.

At Darlington it's strange how if you back way off the gas in turns 2 or 4,
and try to accelerate, you won't until you're well out of the turn.  very
annoying....

I'm just curious after reading this whole thread what is considerd a
"brush" I've tapped the wall many times at Darlington, and many other tracks
as well, and never encountered the glue. It only seems to happen to me if
I'm forced to ride the wall for more than about 1 second.

Same here, I find the wall riding fix that papy implemented to be fine since I never seem to be up
against the wall enough to activate it.  A "brush" will not activate it, even at Darlington.

Sorry, but I must respectfully disagree. It has been my experience that
the mildest bump
coming in mid turn 3/4 causes the "wallGlue" to engage.

With a loose setup it's easy to tag the wall, for #Q^$% sake the old
timers used to weld
Tbar reinforcement into there right side door panels and intentionally hit
the wall !! :)

I can only assume  you drive pushy/slow setups Biz :)

since I never seem to be up

Amen to that Darlington is definitely the worst. Also turning off
driving aids is a necessity for league racing. I don't really care
about the driving line much. How can we get papy on these issues ??
