Thrustmaster = great customer support

I just wanted to say how well I was pleased with Thrustmaster customer
support. A couple of weeks ago I was on the Thrustmaster Homepage
and I thought I would write them concerning my T2 wheel . I have
wanted since I bought my T2 more suction cups , super strong velcro
which was designed for the T1 wheel plus extra springs for the pedal
assembly , just to have on hand.  Well yesterday I checked My mail and
to my surpise all the parts I requested had arrived. I just wanted to
applaud Thrustmaster 's customer support for sending the parts so
quickly. The thing that got to Me the most was that my T2 is no longer
even under warranty. Well what can I say but Thrustmaster has made
a customer of Me for life.

  Just thought I would pass My thoughts along.

I'll second this!  I broke a spring in my GP1 wheel.  I emailed TM
expecting to pay for a set of springs.  What I got was a new wheel shipped
withing a couple of days.  This is a company that truly stands by its'
products.

Ok Hal....

Congratulations to Thrustmaster on there excellant support....but, BUT
if they had designed it properly in the first place, you and half the
world would not constantly be requiring spares!  Just a thought.

P.S.  I use a 'home-brew' all metal wheel and pedals, built like a
battle ship.....nothing breaks on this baby!  Check out 'Wallys World'.

Maybe so, but I don't think so. In the real world things break, if you
use them long enough. And yet it seems no Thrustmaster customer is
left with a broken product, because of their dedication to customer
support. You have a Thrustmaster product, they fix it. Period.

That's enough to get my business (awaiting a T2 replacement
potentiometer, hoping to soon post my own good review of Thrustmaster
support).

Don't mind me jumping in here with my opinion:)... Thrustmaster has
BEEN BY FAR the best support of any product I have ever bought.  Even
past the warranty date... they're still there for anything I need.
They're the best!

That's one of the reason why we in Quebec we want to get separated from
Canada.  TAXED AFTER DEATH :)  But I've found a T2 for 89$ Can here in
Montreal (sorry for you).  It's normal that it feels kind of cheap.
It's much bigger than a Joystick but for the same price.  They have to
cut into the quality somewere :)

Well, it took them long enough, but Thrustmaster has come up with a new
spring system that can be fitted on the old T1's and T2's.  It
supposedly fixes the spring breakage problem.  However, since I put a
travel limiter on my T1 I haven't had a spring break yet and I still
have quite a few spares from when they sent me replacements a couple of
years ago.  So, if any of you T1/2 owners worried about springs going
check with Thrustmaster and ask for the new designed springs.

My pleasure:

Thrustmaster = Very common to see enthusiastic reports of their
customer support going "above and beyond the call of duty" on this ng.

Others = not.

Thrustmaster = great customer support

I just received a free replacement for a malfunctioning pot on my T1, originally purchased in 1994 (too much turning left, I guess).  Arrived in 3 days (not bad for free).  In 1995, a pedal spring snapped - they sent out replacements and new stems to correct a design defect (2nd day air).  I imagine I have already consumed the original profit margin on the wheel in support phone calls and replacement materials.  This company wants repeat business from satisfied customers.  They live and die by the opinions of trend leaders, and I can see a clear connection of this strategy to their approach to customer service.  Very impressive.  This is probably one of the few "Cadillac" products that I own, and I'm always flattered by the level of support I receive from TM.

BTW, the new pot was tough to install, but worth it -- the wheel functions like new (which raises the question "will I ever need a new steering wheel?")
