N4 & Windows XP

Seems to work ok here, but I notice two things different from Windows 98...

The sound seems raspy.  Not distorted, just raspy.  Using a SB Live X-Gamer.
1.2Ghz Athlon, 512MB RAM, ASUS A7V133.

It could be that I'm just missing my superior Hercules GTXP card, which
unfortunately I cannot use until Hercules gets off their butts and issues XP
compatible drivers.

Second, when my engine starts, it ALWAYS does it twice.  It starts once,
dies, then starts again.  I don't remember this ever happening under Windows
98.  Weird :)

Are you running N4 with the first patch?  This was a symptom they
fixed,..THe auto-clutch wouldn't engage when you spun or sat in the pits
etc..

Well if you count the tiny 'altnernate connection' patch, but I really
wasn't.  The First patch that I referred to is the only one so far, but Papy
has inferred they are continueing to work on N4 and they will have a second
patch at some date yet to be announced.
