I downloaded and ran the N4 demo. First of all no matter how I calibrated my
wheel, it would center about 30 degrees left, introducing me to the inside
walls repeatedly.

Then the scary part....

I went to check my wheel in GPL and it would bomb. I could get through all
of the screens up to the point getting on track. Then the program would hang
up during the transition to the game screen (I suspect the change of
resolution) I went through this about 4 times....then deleted the N4 demo,
voila! fixed.

whew!....back to gpl.

At ovals nascar cars have stager on the rear tyers (the left has a smaler
diameter than the right) this makes the car pull left on the striaght, it
takes a bit of getting used to but once you do you don't even notice it. At
tracks like Daytona the only place you stear is on the straights ;-)

lol, I'm only guessing here but your wheel is calibrated fine, the drag to
the left is the stagger in the car setup.

This "turn left" deal is a new feature in N4 to mimick real cars.

So what you're saying is, "go fast, turn left."

Slight correction...

You will ALWAYS notice it, but you might get used to it :)

Those with non-FF wheels will really be affected by this due to the
continuous force-to-center tension springs.
