I have a VisionTek GeForce 3 card, is there an advantage to running
DirectX 8 vs. OpenGL under Win XP Pro?

  fwiu  opengl will be the faster of the two for your card.  D3d performs
better on 3dfx cards

You're right, I got about 50 fps in DirectX, about 60 fps in OpenGL.
