USB port and joystick signals

Does anyone know what kind of signals the USB joystick has to give to the
USB port
Is it stil a potentiometer resistance value or does it have to be an digital
signal ?

I have searched the net and I couldn't find an answer

So if one of you guys know the answer ... Please tell me

Thanks in advance !!!!

It's a digital signal converted by an onboard microprocessor from the original
resistive pot values.  The driver receives the digital signal and returns
proportional control information to VJOYD (in Win9x anyway).

You *will* get proportional control (sometimes mistakenly referred to as analog)
from a USB digital joystick.  The only problem you may have is in games that
poll the joystick port directly rather than talking to MS's joystick layers.  I
don't know of any games (except maybe if-22) that do that anymore.
