Best USB Joystick for a Laptop

Howdy --

I've got a desktop Dell Inspiron 7000, and I've been looking around for
a good mid-priced joystick to use with laptop. I have no Game/MIDI Port on
this computer, but I do have two USB ports, and I was wondering what people
feel are the best sub-$60 USB joystick mainly for use with Flight Sim games
(X-Wing Alliance, Starlancer, Descent Freespace etc...). What are the best
models out there right now, and what kind of feel do they have when playing?
Anything appreciated, thanks a lot.

Before I got my Thrustmaster setup I had good experiences with the
Microsoft Sidewinder Precision Pro. With the rebates, it should go for
about $60 these days. USB, 8 buttons (with a shifter to double their
functions) plus an 8-way hat, throttle and twist-stick rudder, and
good, easy programmability. I would recommend it highly, although
something better and cheaper may have come out in the year or so since
I stopped using mine.
