Try switching the connection of the pass-through cable from your
primary(2D) video, from one V2 card to the other. Normally it should be
connected to the V2 card that is in the lower numbered PCI slot.

this may sound basic, but here goes.  You connect the two voodoo cards
together with the supplied ribbon cable, then connect your primary display
card to the closest voodoo card, and connect your monitor to the same voodoo
card.

It should work in sli but... GPL does not really utilize the power of sli, in
fact, on some systems it will actually run slower.
On my puter (450) a single 8 meg thriller blows away 24megs of sli voodoo.

I believe I've seen you post this catchy phrase a few times.  I'm genuinely
curious here.  I run GPL with an SLI setup and it's smooth as silk.  Exactly
which V2 cards did you use, at what resolution, with what detail settings, to
make the comparison.  Some frame rate numbers would also be nice.  TIA.

GPL SLI V2 HELP

It was almost a year ago that I did the massive test swap test swap ad
infinitum (while bulding a new system for GPL)and the v2's were configured by a
friend who run's that way still. I don't recall the details but I will say that
that at slower cpu speeds, say under 350, and at average resolutions the v2's
were just either roughly equal or a bit slower (ok, it wasn't a blowout) but at
higher cpu speeds or higher resolutions the v2's were a bit faster (again a
small difference).  But overall I found that I preferred the look of the
rendition chip. I run a celeron 300a on an abit mobo with 128 meg ram and a
single thriller 8meg at 1024x768 (I feel thats sufficient with a 17" monitor)
and all graphics on (slider 50% since I can see the detail that far away) it
runs at 36 fps by the time I shift to 2nd gear (full fields max sounds), this
is true even at 374 cpu speed. I won't say the thriller is a better card ( it's
just different) but it's more like I'm sticking up for the little guy that
everybody forgets about, just cheering for the underdog. These statements are
backed up by the tech info at Alison Hines site, she was running the thriller
for a long time, she may still be. The other factor is that I am not a jump on
the latest craze type of person, I have learned from experience that sometimes
it pays to wait and see what happens then make a move when it looks right, same
approach on the race track has brought me sucess as well. If I were to buy a
card today it would most likely be a v3 but since 90% of my simming/*** time
is spent in GPL I will stick with this old forgotten horse a while longer, it
runs mechwarrior3 pretty good too. Thanks for asking.
