Another 3dFX Card?

by robswindell » Mon, 30 Aug 1999 04:00:00

Would it be quite possible to add another 3dFX card to join my current
12MB Maxi Gamer card? Would it double my frame rates? Would I get
overheating problems? What are the main symptoms of overheating? Who is
Cartman's father?

Now look here Swindells, you know as well as I do, that until you win a
FF1600 Race at Castle Combe, when it's raining, and Richard Carter, Kevin
Mills, Gavin Wells and Robin Parsons are driving SHIT HOT...you're NOTHING,
d'ya here me - NOTHING.

Only kidding Rob....Crashing On.

IF your Card has a small socket, and came with a short ribbon cable, then it
means you can run a second card, by connecting the two with the short ribbon
cable, and running yout 2d card into the first 3D card, and that card into
the 2nd, and the 2nd into your monitor.

You get a lot of frame rate increase..BUT the problem is, can your machine
work out WHAT it should be drawing quick enough to tell the cards to draw
it?

If you can have LOADS of cars runnign at the start of the monaco race, in a
VERY low res mode, then you've got the grunt to make it worth while...
