They weren't 8 months ago the last time I tried straying from the nVIDIA
fold.  All I care about is racing sim compatibility and frame rates.  You
can get a fanless version of the 9800 now that interests me for the
quietness part, but not if it's as much of a pain in the ***drivers-wise
as the 9600 I tried.

I run GPL, NR2003 and netKar on a fanless 9600 and Catalyst 3.5. Everything
runs fine and stable. I'm glad I made the switch from a noisy GF Ti 4200.

D3D or OpenGL or a mixture?  The quiet is nice, isn't it?

D3D. Yeah, I wouldn't trade the quietness for extra performance. These
top-of-the-line fanless Radeons seem to be powerful enough for *** needs
too, at least for myself.

Hmmm. I got a 128mb Radeon 9600 pro here and its working fine with Win XP
home, GPL, F1RC 2002, GTR 2002, Live for Speed, Superbike Racing, etc.

Great bang for your buck, as its easily overclockable too.

I've not had any driver probs at all so far...

8-)

I have been using the 3.8s with my AIW 9700 pro and have no issues. Works
fine with GPL, NR2003, BF1942, F1C and some others.
