GPL - Matrox G450 or ATI Radeon?

Hello,

I'm upgrading my Voodoo3 2000 to something better, primarily in order to get
rid of the blur in really high resolutions (1280x1024 and higher). After
checking out what's available for reasonable price, I ended up with two
candidates:

Matrox G450 with 32MB of DDRAM
ATI Radeon with 32MB of SDRAM

I know that G400 works with the D3D patch for GPL, but does anybody have
first-hand experience with G450? What about the ATI?

GPL - Matrox G450 or ATI Radeon?

Hi, I don't know about Radeon, but it'll be better choice than G450.
G450 will performed worse than Voodoo3.

I'm using Voodoo3 3000 for main PC and G400SH 32MB SDRAM for sub one.
Voodoo3's small textures are really looking ugly for todays games. So I
tryed swapping main machine's Voodoo3 with G400. Reinstall Windows,
and try to set GPLD3D options as recomended here.
The result is Voodoo3 is handle GPL way better than G400.

I read some reviews thats saied G450 is equal or lower performanc than
G400. So, you will not be able to expect from G450.

Upgrading your video card will only give you better performance based on the
cpu power you have. I just don't want you to be disappointed.

The Radeon32 DDR is now only $115 with shipping. The slower SDR version is
more money (old stock, I guess). It works fine in GPL with the D3D patch.
