GP2 QUESTIONS!

by tomkr.. » Sun, 04 Aug 1996 04:00:00

HELLO! I am a BIG fan of GP2 and have some questions:

                1. I have seen microprose's homepage of GP2 where
                   i readed a note:"Weather changes trough races". I haven't
seen any weather changes. Is there any "rain"
                   races at all in GP2?

                2. I have played 4 races with 100 % distances with
failures on, but haven't got any! I am driving
with race nr 29(don't remember the name of that
                   team). Why?

1. Nope no weather changes in GP2 right now, I guess they ran out of
time to include decent weather effects... maybe in a future patch?

2. You will definitely find your car breaking down sooner or later,
some of the failures I've had - engine blown, broken wheel
suspension, transmission stuck in gear. The only problem is that
the pit crews in GP2 are miraculous. They fix any problem in about
10 seconds, as long as you can drag the car into the pit stall
they will fix it and FAST!

Not very realistic on this one point, hopefully we will have a fix for
this.

Cheers.

up?)

There is no weather changes. It's always dry and sunny. They didn't have
enough time to do the weather.

That team is Sauber, but I don't think the team has any effect on player
car failures (it may have on AI cars, but cannot deny/confirm).
I just completed 15th race of my first 100% distance season and experienced
my third technical failure. On lap 23 I think just when I had passed the
start/finish line of Suzuka my transmission broke down. I had to park
my car beside the track.
My first failure was in Aida, I had a healthy lead on the second half of the
race and when I started to brake for the final corner nothing happened and
I ended up in the gravel.
Second time was in Hockenheim, I started my sixth lap and after the first
corner my engine started to smoke and soon gave up.

So, I've had 3 failures in 15 races. That's every fifth race. It's
frequent enough for me.

Does anyone now if these omissions are going to be addressed by
Microprose. I have mailed them, but all my messages seem to fall on deaf
ears.
