Hi folks, some questions to GP2 :

- Is the influence of fuel-weight modelled right in GP2 ?
In GP1, the difference between car behavior at the start
of the race (with full fuel) and at the end of the race
(with little fuel) was very much (in top speed and car physics).

In GP2, there isn't any difference in top speed between
driving with fuel for 5 laps or driving with fuel for 80 laps and
only a little difference in car behavior in curves.
  Is that realistic ?

- any chance to change the length of a hot race ?
(I remember it was there in GP1...)

- I can't change "setup is for race"/"setup is for qualifying"
in the setup screen (does not enable when I choose "different setups").
  Is it a bug ?

- I get A-tyres at Hockenheim and D-tyres at Monaco, does it
mean that the tyres at Hockenheim do last longer than the
  ones in Monaco  ?

- Did anyone get a message "tyres worn" from the pit ? I've read
somewhere (was it at SRN...) that this should be included in the
game (and there is a string "Reifen abgenutzt", in english
"Tyres worn" in the gp2.exe), but it never
happened to me, even in a 100% race at Adelaide (I think this
  track has D-Tyres !...).

I'm very unhappy about this because you don't have any information
about the state of your tyres...

- How many hotlaps can you save after a race ? I have 20 megs on my
machine, but there are never more than the last 17 laps left...

Actually, it's not impossible, it has been done by at least General
Motors on a test track (with interesting and surprising results - see
Paul van Valkenburgh's Racecar Engineering book).  The point is that
it is _not_ done by F1 or Indycar teams, because the necessary
instrumentation would add weight, complexity, and additional points of
failure.  However, you _should_ be able to measure tyre temps when you
return to the pits.  Neither GP2 nor ICR2 get this right - GP2 because
you don't see the temps at all, and ICR2 because you get pit-style
temperature readings on the fly (this is not what the temperatures
actually would be - see PvV's book for details).

It's very realistic! It's impossible to know the temp of a wheel when
it's rolling on the street!

I would love to have the very important ability to see the temps of
the tires across the width of the tires. Of course then I would want
(and it really should be in there) the ability to change the camber.
Really cant understand why you cant adjust the camber. Very important
to see if the whole tire is working hard at keeping my incompetent ass
on the track.<VBG>

>UUUUAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!

Not so realistic if you have wireless sensors attached to the insides
of the tires and transmitting info back to the pit along with all
other engine data as has been done for a couple of years (at least
with Indycars).

Not really. The Jaguar Group C World Sports Cars used to monitor tyre
temperature and pressure using infra-red sensors on each wheel. Don't
know any more detail than that though.
