Isn't it ironic how many things Papyrus supports dies?
Rendition... Dead
Aureal... Dead
TEN... Dead (For all intensive purposes. POGO THIS!)
<VBG> I think there were a few other mentioned that I can't remember.
It's not looking good for NASCAR ;) ROFLMAO

yet to be seen. :) Maybe Macintosh should be glad papy has seemingly
dropped support for their OS.

I was one of the suckers that purchased the 3D Blaster VLB when it was
released just before Christmas( of '94 I believe ). By the end of January,
one month later, Creative had dropped VLB went to PCI and used a different
graphic chip in the PCI version. With the new chip all support for the 3D
Blaster VLB was yanked, no new software, and no new drivers .
The retail box claimed something like, "Pentium 100 performance from your
486, scores of games supported. " . I don't believe that more than ten
titles were made for the VLB version . I called Creative some time in Feb
of that year to complain about the lack of promised software titles for the
very expensive 3D Blaster VLB. They said that advertising on their retail
box was no promise of support . I haven't plugged in a Creative product
since, and have not missed them .
I also have not enjoyed a racing sim since the Indycar 1 and Nascar 1 era
yes the NASCAR Racing sim did run nice on my 486 VLB for 10-20 minutes at a
time before crashing) .
I guess racing sims and hardware have matured quite a bit by now, and I
think I'm ready to jump back in( not sure if I've matured ) . GPL interests
me and maybe NASCAR 4, but I won't jump this time before I get some sound
hardware advice . My computer is a 700 MHz Athlon with 128 MB of pc133 ram .
It has an old Turtle Beach Malibu sound card, and an 8 meg ATI card, both
were pulled from my last system.
Any advice out there on video, sound and wheel upgrade? I prefer to avoid
Creative. :-)
Thanks to RAS for this place to vent. :-)
