Since i have a 17" mainmonitor, and a 14" for my older computer.. i thought
about getting a 14" (they cost around $50 today), and use the 17" in the
middle, and the 14" at the sides.
not the best.. but its cheap :)

I'd thought that with my 19" main ( get two 120 17"'s )  - but I' m not
sure how the differing sizes would match up at the edge of each screen

Bottom line - when we see benchmarks on this beats -it's gonna give nVidia
and ATI a wake up call.

What views could this attain?

In  a race sim could you dispaly eg car in front and car behind (one
each side)

Or

A wide angle of the central screen

or is it for multiplay?????

sounds interesting!

I used to own a Matrox Millenium II.  It was by far the most problematic VGA
card I have ever owned and I've owned a few.  Matrox will have to do
something truly spectacular to get my business again.

Anand already commented on Parhelia's speed in his article. It is slower
than a GF4Ti4600 in non DX8 games (e.g. N4/N2002, F12001, Q3 engined games).
However in games that use pixel shaders (like UT2003) is around 1.2-1.4x
than the Ti4600.
Needless to say its not much of a wake up call... in 2 months ATI's R300 and
Nvidia's NV30 will once again put Matrox to rest as a choice for gamers.

It's not just performance that's a problem, but rather the fact that
Matrox has abandoned the *** market.  They don't write their drivers to
behave in a DX enviroment(I think) and while they provide an excellant
display for professional work, it has lately been more problematic for
gamers.
I would look long and hard at testing before jumping in the pond these days
with a Matrox card.

Once again, experiences can differ. My M-II was absolutely fine.
I'm still using it in my PC#2 with a video capture card and Voodoo2.

But I would not buy a new matrox card these days for ***.
