Help With Video Card Settings

by Tom Pabs » Sat, 13 Jan 2001 06:03:33

Hi guys....

After having had 3dfx Interactive video cards, exclusively....for the last
bazillion years, I now find myself using an Nvidia card.  I have had this VC
for two weeks, and still can't find the time (about a day I figure) to
"play" with all the settings for it.  I have a GeForce 2 Ultra (Creative's)
and am running the Detonator Nvidia ref drivers, vers. 6.31.  I am
particularly interested in settings "optimized" for GPL and an "optimized"
set of settings for N4 as well (if they are different???).  It also appears
to me that some new motherboard BIOS tweaks are in order for the Nvidia
cards....but I can't find a single-source site that clearly indicates
them.....or what special settings might be needed for "helping" my system
with GPL's unique texture processing.

If one or more of you guys who have had more "history" with the Nvidia VC's
.....and have yours "dialed in" for running GPL could send me that
info....I'd be much obliged.

Also, I can't seem to locate a single-source "Nvidia Tweaking" guide or
website.......as there were several I relied on for the 3dfx products.  A
few suggestions on sites you've found to be accurate and helpful sources
would be appreciated too.

Thanks in advance, for your help.

Regards,

Tom Pabst

Help With Video Card Settings

Neil....

Wow, man!  I was at that site 5 minutes (just to check it out quickly before
heading out to a meeting)....found 10 things I didn't know....and can
"change" to try out.  That place is a virtual Nvidia 'Tweak' ...gold mine!
Thank you very much for forwarding along that information.

I'm going to make a post here later today, when I return.....of my current
BIOS and all the card settings....as I now have them.  That way, any
feedback can be added.....settings changed and added, etc.  Those who get
new cards can check this....and maybe those guys that have been using these
cards for some time...can make recommendations for changes?
