I have noticed a few people have had problems with the steering reversing -
but how many have had problems with the MASSIVE dead zone in the wheel? It's
like you are steering with the old worm drive. And no, it's not my hardware,
Codemasters TOCA works just fine thank you. Maybe this is why the sim is
such a *** to play....

Anyone know of a fix?

I believe F1RS uses the default deadzone value of DirectInput, which is 5%.
I believe www.f1racingsim.com has a program that will patch this value so
that there is no deadzone. Check out their download section.  Of course,
this will patch the value for all programs that you play, not just F1RS.

Make sure that you select a thrustmaster t1/t2 controller in Win95 control
panel.  I have my own steering wheel that I made myself and had problems in the
demo with mine setup as a joystick under Win95.  Somehow the game sees that
Win95 reports a joystick and the game trys to help you by making the controls
less touchy.  It worked for me in the french demo.

Have you definately got your wheel set up as a wheel device under Win95 - it
makes a difference to F1RS if it thinks you are using a Joystick.

I don't think this explains it fully.  It works for a while normally, then later
switches
to reverse control (all while the game is running - e.g. normal in qualifying,
then
reversed in the actual race).   I doubt this has to do with how it is setup in
win95.
Although for the record, I do have mine setup as a race car controller in win95,
and it still does it.  exiting the game and restarting always fixes it (for a
while anyway).

Frustrating...

I only ever saw this on a "hacked" version of F1RS, the Real version
has always worked for me, but there does not seem to be enough
steering....

Latest version 1.07 seems to be better....

Hi

I use a destiny wheel, & when I cfg it as a joystick, there is a
massive dead zone in the middle, I then cfg it as a T2 + adaptor
& all works fine now.
