GPL: npt_override doesn't work in F3 races?

by Jo » Fri, 30 Apr 1999 04:00:00

I'm desperately seeking a way to make GPL playable and fun. The F3
cars are drivable (for me) but there aren't many F3 multiplayer races.
F3 hotlaps are boring.

I've setup GPL to race in F3 mode but I can't keep up with the AI, so
that's pretty boring too. The npt_override setting doesn't seem to
have any effect in F3 races. I'm not sure if I also have to set the
override_difficulty_hype variable (the readme is unclear) but I've
tried it both ways, and npt_override still doesn't seem to work.

Any ideas? Is there any way to control AI speed in F3 races? Why oh
why didn't Papyrus simply include an AI % slider as in their previous
sims?

Hi, Joe

Have you tried changing driver.ini settings?
There is a detailed explanation in Alison Hines site in her faq section at
http://nh.ultranet.com/~alison/gpl/
You can download tweaked ini files there.

Also you can try downloading aitw103.zip(a very handy utility) at Apex
http://gpl.gamestats.com/
in files section.

I hope this helps =)
