N2 Phoenix setups . . .

by Sandy J. Murr » Sat, 15 Mar 1997 04:00:00

Hi there,

I am no expert on the setups, does anyone have any good race setups
for Phoenix. I have been using the ACE setup, and wondered if anyone
had improved on that . . .

Also, a general question. Does using the same setup on a different
chassis make a big difference? ie, using a setup made on a Monte Carlo
on the thunderbird. If so, what is the best overall chassis to drive?
Tough question, I know.

Thanks!

Just worked on a Phoenix setup this week. My best lap is a 27.910 secs
(129.986 MPH). I've found that it's best to run very stiff rear shocks.
Also, play with the tire camber so that you can turn into the corners and
also use the low line to pull the car around the corner (this involves
running little or no positive camber on the LF).

I feel that the Ford chassis is probably the best choice for novices. The
Chevy has a slight advantage on the speedways, you can get away with a
little less spoiler, but it feels twitchier to me, you spend more time
chasing the back end around. I haven't played with the Pontiac much, but it
should be a good compromise between the two.

Not to be a bother, but do you think you could e-mail me a setup file?
I don't have the time or frustration tolerance to make my own! This
one goes out to everyone, I guess.

Thanks!
