I cannot name a new setup in N2.  Page 137 in the manual says to pull
down the Setup icon and enter a new name.  When I pull it down I only
get Ace,Fast, and Easy.  Anybody know how to save a new setup?

Also, page 64 says there is a Show Counter feature for frame rate.
Anybody found it?

Thanks.

Bill, to create a new set-up, highlight the name of your existing one
(ace, easy, etc) with the mouse, then delete the letters and type in your new
set up name.  As for the frame rate counter, apparently they left it out.

Where it has the name of the setup yor looking at (Not the defaults) click
on the name.  Now you can edit it, when your done..save it. There you go,
you can now use the setup by the pull-down menu.

If you click on the name of the setup itself, it will highlight and you
can change it.  So far though I'm having trouble in making them stay
saved.  Anyone else have this prob?

Ok, rocket science 101.

Load Nascar 2.
Pick a track.
Select Car Setup

---- See the area where is has 'Setup' and 'Comments' under it? ---
To the right of 'Setup' is a setup name.  Click on the NAME of the setup.
The text turns yellow/orange.  Type in the new name.  Press <Return>
Gee.  Now you have a new setup.

This works here on both of my computers.  If it doesn't work that way for
you.....  Trust me, it will.

Of course, you may want to modify the setup options first.
And mybe enter a comment about the setup.

Chill Bud!  You can save your setups, so put away that switchblade.  On
the current setup, click on the name (default, ace, easy, etc.) and type
over it with a new name (backspace over the old name if you have to).
Click Save at the bottom of the screen, and you've just saved a setup to
disk.

Rocket Science 102.

This only works if you've done the full install.  If you've done the
min install, you can't save or load new setups, just as was stated
above.  Can't see how this one got past the testers...

Rocket science 103.

You can save them, you just can't load them.  Or so someone sad in a
earlier, different thread.  Sorry, I didn't do the minimal install, so I
can't say how it will react there.  Just that it works on mine.

As to how it got past the testers......  Maybe the only option they had was
to install the whole thing.  So they didn't see how it would react on a
'minimal' system.  For dang sure none of the installed from Win95 with MSIE
3.01 on their systems.

David is correct.  I did a full reinstall (over the min. install I did
first) and now my new setups will come up when you open the list.  I sure
hope they patch this; I hate using up an extra 65+ MB of hard drive just
to load my own setups.
