Setup differences between N1 and N2?

Ok, so some of you have Nascar2 and are checking it out.  Have you
found your good setups in Nascar 1 to work well with them?  did you
have to make many modifications to them?  Do the things you did in N1
to fix the handling "work" in N2?  Did they reverse the temp problem
they had in N1 so where it's correct?

and finally the big question...

does the AI slow down with tire wear?

Some setups translate very well, others require work. You now qualify and
start the race with 22 gals of fuel, so those sprint race/qual setups are
useless. Also, there are 5 new tracks (Darlington, Dover, Phoenix,
Talladega and Watkins Glen) that require major overhauls to your setup. In
fact, you're probably best served by starting with a stock setup and tuning
from there. I think you'll find the stock setups are much better than those
in N1.

They sure do, in my experience, they tend to suffer more tire wear than the
player, but maybe that's because I baby my tires. They also suffer from
cold tires, so you won't see the field run away from you on every restart.

My setups for N1 are, for the most part, useless for N2 due to a revamped
phsyics modelling.  At Taladega and Darlington my setups had me running at
the rear of the field, rather than out front.  It's much better and will
require many hours of garage time.

Yes, they are affected by cold tires, weather, warm tires...all the
factors that affect you as the driver will also affect the AI.

--- basically the same physics model, therefore very similar theories
in setting the cars up.  The differences being 1) can't adjust the fuel
load for qualifying (full tank only), as well as at start of race 2)no
stagger altering now, and 3) front air dam not changeable.  These are
all regualted by Nascar anyway, so realism wins out here.

--- Many of the tracks have been re-worked, so some changes will be in order
anyhow (some major reworking at a few).  And the grip levels resemble
the "Multi" version of Nascar 1.

: does the AI slow down with tire wear?

--- indeed they do, as a matter of fact.  As well, they suffer some from
cold tires at the beginning as well.  Takes a lap or two to get them really
fired up.

--- Great sound, by the way! ;-)
