RBR, TSW2 stock gameport, split axis?

by Uwe Schürkam » Fri, 10 Sep 2004 16:48:28

Hi folks,

I've just ordered RBR from amazon so it should arrive in time for the
weekend. Can somebody please confirm that it works with a TSW2,
connected to the gameport, in split axis mode on Win98SE? I had to do
a bit of hacking to get things to work back in the Rally Trophy days,
but it would be great if RBR would work on this rig without
modification.

Wheel works fine in both ISI and Papy titles (split axis)

All the best & thanks for your comments,

uwe

I still remember the stories my granddad told me in the past when I
was a little kid about Windows 98...... :-P

Cheers!

You can't be older than 10 then ;-) I see no reason whatsoever to toil
away in MS' "upgrade" treadmill. 98SE works great for my *** needs,
uses less resources and I own a valid license as it came with a PC I
bought years ago; for productivity stuff, I prefer Linux as my
platform of choice anyway.

Why should I spend money on a "new and imroved" MS O/S? Gentoo Linux
is free, and it feels rather good not to be virus/worm compatible with
the rest of the world when you're out there on the net ;-) Not that
I've never spent money on a Linux distro (mandrake and redhat come to
mind, although both can be downloaded free of charge too), but
currently Gentoo Linux seems like heaven.

Cheers,

uwe

I think I'll have to re-phrase my originial question:

Has anybody tried Richard Burns Rally in split axis mode using a
gameport-connected TSW2? I don't mind which OS you use for ***,
please just let me know wether it works or not. Better? ;-)

Cheers & all the best,

uwe
