RBR Demo - Reversing brake/throttle on non-split axis possible?

by cosmo_kram.. » Wed, 09 Mar 2005 00:15:45

I finally got around to downloading and installing the RBR demo this
past weekend (Rally racing does not really e*** me, but all the rave
reviews of RBR have convinced me to give it a try).

My controller is a CH Virtual Pilot yoke and pedal combo (non
split-axis) - gameport version.  In RBR, the right pedal acts as the
brake and the left pedal acts as the throttle.  Obviously this is
backwards, but I have found no way to reverse this setting in the sim.
I have found no appropriate setting in any of the ini files...  Any
ideas? (Other than get a proper wheel/pedal setup for driving games!).
This setup (although not FFB) works just fine in all other
racing/driving sims that I play (GTR, rFactor, NR2003, GPL, etc...).

Please help!  RBR looks to be a fun sim, but I can't get my mind/feet
to go along with the reversed brake and throttle pedals!

Thanks,
Pat

when you are in RBR, in the settings you change the device it uses somehow,
go look at it agian, I wish I could do it right now but I dont have RBR on
this machine (work) and no wheel either, but wouldnt that be nice?

seems to me though, you drill down through menus options settings
controls.... in there you see throttle (you will see what it has set already
and in there you can click on the device it has set, to change it)  not sure
though.  in there somewhere I know I saw it, or least think I did.

Thanks for the reply, Plowboy - But I don't think that is what I am
looking for.  The game is already using the correct device for
brake/throttle - The CH Pedals.  But it has it backward.  Press right
pedal and brake is applied.  Press left pedal and throttle is
applied...  Kinda hard to get used to that!

Remember, it is one single device (think of the pedals as a single
joystick, where pressing the left pedal is like pressing the joystick
left and pressing the right pedal is like pressing that same joystick
to the right).  Thus, I need to configure RBR to essentially change
axis for the two.  I believe this is possible in the newer patched
version of RBR (via an ini adjustment) but I can't seem to find a way
to do it in the demo.

Thanks,
Pat

Try DXTweak2 perhaps?
