Has anybody found a way to get a TSW2 using split axis to work with F12002??
UPS delivered my TSW2 yesterday and it works great in all my sims except
F12002 (actually it's GTR2002). The steering, accelerator, and shifter are
recognized in the control menu but the brake is unresponsive. Any help?

I think it is possible.  Search ras with google groups for threads about
f1 2001 and controller.  You will find a bunch of threads about dxtweek2
and getting the proper settings for a wheel, everything from 2001 copies
over to 2002 and Thunder.  I'm pretty sure tsw2 users have been able to run
split axis.  Hopefully they will chip in.

I got mine to work in split axis, but I forgot exactly how I did it. I
think you have to hold down the brake pedal when starting the game and
until you get to the calibration screen. Then release and calibrate.
If that's not it, try a combination of pushing different pedals until
it works. I know it's screwy, but it did work for me.

Hmmm...

I have the TSW2 Stock with the split axis and the USB adapter and the
game works without a hitch and no setting changes or .ini file
adjustments. And to further confuse the issue, I have done so with
both Win98 and XP, all within the last month.

Are you using the usb adapter or going with the gameport? Does Windows
see it as the 4 axis 4 button controller? Did you set up the wheel for
split axis in Windows,i.e., move wheel left/right, press button and
then button again and then press gas, etc. etc.? ( I ask only because
I have done this or NOT done this)

After typing all of the above I see that it works fine in all the
other sims.....oh well

I have it setup as a 4 axis 2 button controller. Someone mentioned holding
down the brake pedal when starting F12002 until I get to the controls screen
but that didn't work either.

Aaron,

I had to rewire my TSW2 in order to make it work.  I spoke with Dave Jr. at
Thomas and he told me how to get it done.  If you need more help email me.

Hi Aaron,

maybe you need to***around with your axis wiring a bit...
really easy, no soldering required.

Dave Jr. from Thomas enterprises sent me email a while ago how
to do it, and I've written a little manual at

F1 2002 worked fine for me right out of the box.  2001 was effed up, though...
If you're still not able to get it in a couple days, let me know and I'll send
you my control file, or something... (does that still exist?)
