Good question. I don't have an answer for this, but I'm curious as well. I
have the sorry full version of F1; it looks good but the AI and realism are
horrible. I haven't tried the F1 demo; it actually has two full tracks? Good
demo (for what it is), I guess.
Well, here's some ideas about the difference. First of all, how well does F1
compress? The F1RS demo does not compress that well, so your downloadable file
is a very large portion of the size it will be once you install it. The F1 demo
might very well compress much better. F1RS has much better AI and car
physics; F1 Psygnosis is a good-looking but totally goofy
dart-all-over-the-place arcade mess.
And this is debatable, but IMO F1RS is much better looking as well. I
personally feel that this one gives me a better feeling of actually driving one
of these cars than any other sim out there, speedwise and graphically.
I don't have the full version of F1RS yet myself, but based on both the English
and French demos, I'd much rather give away 200+ megs of disk space to this
wonder than the 60 or 70 for Psygnosis mess.
But I'd like to hear some comments as well on what the differences in data sizes
are from. Does F1RS's superior AI, realism, and IMO graphics make this much of
a space difference?
