N99 Video Problem

by Dave Wic » Wed, 27 Mar 2002 14:50:22

I have NASCAR 1999 on an IBM 300GL (model 6591) running Windows 98 SE. This
unit has integral support. I've added my Intergraph Intense 3D 100 card from
my old(er) computer where NASCAR 1999 did work fine. Windows seems to be
fine with this adapter, but NR doesn't see it. When I run UVCONFIG.EXE it
appears as though it's seeing the factory video subsystem rather than the
add-in one. I haven't been able to find any way to disable the factory video
through either the BIOS (which shows the Intense 3D installed) or a hardware
jumper. HELP!!!!

Thanks!
Dave

The 300GL's I've worked on all automatically disabled their onboard video
whenever they detected a new video card. You may still show one in 98's
Device Manager, tho. Right click on My Computer, click "Properties". Select
Device Manager and click on the + sign next to Display Adapters. If you see
an entry for S3 there double click it and select Disable. Reboot.
