N2 Modem Help Needed.

by Donald Rinderknech » Sun, 03 Aug 1997 04:00:00

Hey there.

I'm trying to get Nascar2 running using a dial up via modem. The first
problem I noticed was that only COM1 and COM3 are available. My modem is on
COM2 so it won't even init.

What can I do about that? I'm running Win95, and couldn't see any way to
modify the COM port for my modem under Device Manager. Ideas??

Where can I go to find info about multiplayer Nascar2? (modem stuff in
particular)

Thanks for the help.

Don,

I am running Nascar 2 with a modem on COM 2.  Mine shows choices of COM 1
or COM 2 in multiplayer--setup. Is your modem plug-n-play or do you have to
set the configuration via pins?  Is it a Windows modem that you're trying
to operate in DOS mode?  I have a good amount of experience in getting
Nascar 2 to modem race as well as changing Win '95 device settings, so
e-mail me if you'd like more help.

A friend of mine had the exact same problem with a USR Plug and Pray modem.
Contact the manf. for DOS drivers.
