TNT2 Video card? Please advise

by Daddyo6 » Wed, 22 Mar 2000 04:00:00

I have this"friend" who owed me some money and he is good with computers so I
agreed to let him provide and install a V3 video card and 64 more meg of ram to
pay the debt. Turns out the card is a TNT2. By Video Excel ??? Is this card any
good? I've not tried it yet but am concerned because of our deal for the V3.
Should I be pissed?
Thanks

Not pissed, but definitely would have passed on the value. Odds are, he
spent his (your?) money on the V3 that replaced the TNT2 that he's passing
on, and the 64MB chips came out of the slots that now hold 128MB. The sad
thing is, even after he lands a real consulting gig and starts making money,
he won't connect your generosity with his apparent self-built success. I
should know; a friend confessed to me that he stole from his sister's
piggy-bank to buy his first PC. I could identify with the feelings and
thoughts, even if my circumstances differed in actual details of fact. Write
it off, and find some other way to make up the difference. Let him know
you're disappointed in resolution, and that you have more coming.

Michael.

Thanks Michael you have shed an entire new light on the situation. Never
thought of it this way but it could very well be true here. I do plan to let
him know that I'm not happy. Thanks again,
Dan
