Just tried playing Gp2 on my overclocked 200 -> 250 and I still can't
use full detail! High rez, but without sky or most of the mirror
options. Get 27-28 fps.
In heavy traffic about 120% occupancy. Wow, I guess you need a Pentium
II 266 or something.

Ah but you have forgotten other important things!!!
A FAST graphics card and a FAST hard drive. If this game runs from a CD-
ROM then it needs to be fast too and perhaps a shareware program to set
up your CD-ROM to use a larger swap file on the hard drive, or better yet
use your Ram. RAM? well there is something else you need lots of and it
also has to be FAST.

All these together may get what you want, or will it?

The number 1 thing needed is a fast CPU.  Next would be a FAST bus on
the motherboard.  3rd is a fast video card.  CD-ROM and Hard Drive speed
are really not that important.  I don't even know if the game writes the
replay to the hard drive unless you save it.  The only time the CD-ROM
is accessed is to load menus, stream audio during menu display and to
load the tracks/cars/objects before racing.  During the race and
practice the Hard Drive and CD-ROM aren't used.

Is 83 mhz bus speed fast enough! 64 Megs of 60ns ram as well. Gp2 is a
complex game, not just graphically but I guess the processor has a lot
of calculating to do all the realistic physics etc.Mf

Yeah right? How can you get 27-28fps when the MAXIMUM is 25.6fps? No
matter what cpu you have installed!!!!
