GPL: a small graphics error?

by Arto Wik » Sat, 02 Jan 1999 04:00:00

Hi gpl racers,

there seems to be a small, not so bothering, error in the graphics of the
gpl: when you drive without the simulated hands - as always I do - the
sides of the car's inside seem to change colour quite wildly! It doesn't
bother me too badly, but, anyhow, I would prefer a constant texture...

Anyone seen this? Any recommendations?

[I use PII 350 MHz, Voodoo2]

Under the win9x control panel, go to display properties and the 3Dfx
tab, and check out the advanced properties and make sure you have none
of the boxes checked.

Also make sure you are not using any background graphics to win9x or
"wallpaper" as this can affect the GPL screen too?

Finally make sure you are using the latest Voodoo2 drivers for your
card.

All good suggestions Peter.  Though I don't experience any problems with
any wallpaper settings affecting my GPL screen.  Also, depending on the
refresh rate of one's monitor, one may get better frame rates if the
"Don't sync buffer swaps to monitor refresh rate for Glide apps" is
checked.

Hi Arto
I had the same thing, also the hand texture would flicker, I was all a bit
distracting, It all stopped after I changed to the latest Voodoo drivers.

Cheers
Pete
