Though, I'm no GPL fan, I think you should be DAMN glad for what he HAS
done.  How much did you pay for those tracks?  It's not like it's some big
moneymaking scheme on his part.  I would just sit patiently and wait for
whatever he offers.

"This guy" has already made 2 more tracks than the rest of us
combined, he certainly doesn't owe us any more.

Maybe he is working on a patch to give us GPL physics for N3. <G>
Whatever he is doing, I'm sure it's more constructive than this post.

Many months ago this guy gives us Brands Hatch and Dubai. That was nice.
But for the last months  NOTHING at all has happened.
No addons, carsets or whatsoever.
The Fastlane.com is virtually dead.

Why is this?
Why doesn't Dave Noonan do anything at all for GPL anymore?
If he lost interest, why doesn't he share the code to let others make
tracks?

??? any views?

I can tell you almost exactly why he hasnt released anything yet.  It takes a
LONG time to edit a track.  I've been working on my little project for close to
2 months now and im still not happy with it.  A little preview of it:  Its is a
road course and its designed for N2/99.  Its not a new track but an edited
version of another one (i cant totally re-write the .trk file....ill leave that
to the experts).  Look for it in about mid to late January if all goes well.

David Noonan is working as hard as ever for the GPL community, I think
you will be pleased when he releases his finished product, which will
not be released before he feels that it's ready, David N has a very
healthy approach to this thing IMO, he goes about his business, promises
nothing and just delivers when he's good and ready, and amazes us all,
even those that get a glimpse every now and then

So don't worry Karl, David is still out there somewhere, working his
magic for you and all the rest of us, when he's not doing the GP3 that
is.......:-)

First off, Dave does not create carsets or 'whatsoever'.  He works
completely with tracks/track 3do.
Second, Fastlane.com is not where Dave hangs his hat, he works with The
Pits.
Third, Dave works on his own timetable and schedule, he will put out stuff
when he
gets it done, no sooner, no later.

Cheers!

As far as I know, David Noonan is Geoff Crammond's alias when he's doing
work for "The Pits", Jan Kohl recruited him on one of his many trips to
the UK, I think they met over a pint in a pub somewhere, one of them
remarked something about liking racing sims on the PC, and when Jan
mentioned that he had now taken over the daily running of "The Pits"
after Jed left, Geoff promptly asked him if he needed any help in any
way as that was just *the* most awesome sim-racing site ha had ever seen
and now that GP2 was ready, he needed something to do with his time,
this is also why GP3 is taking so long of course, just imagine doing the
GPL stuff during the day, and then try to squeeze in a bit of GP3
programming late at night, but at least he has his priorities right.....

That's what I heard anyway, but to quote Ed Benson, "I could be
wrong".....

Goy if you are going to be making speculations like that, you'd better
have something to back them up with.  Next you'll be telling me that
Dave Kaemerer is the Pope and that some ex Governor from Arkansas is the
President.  c'mon.....  :)

But but.......it's true, I swear.....I have friend in the UK, and his
mother's cousin's husband is the caretaker over at the place two houses
down from Geoff Crammonds place, and he told us this....., I've asked
Jan about it, but he denies the whole thing of course

What kind of shitty remark is this?
Do I have to contribute myself JUST to be allowed to ask questions??

I am just wondering why NOTHING at all has been contributed by anyone over
the last months. Fastlane.com is virtually dead.... and I just wonder why.

Now this is an answer to my question!
Thanks a lot.

I'm sick of all these ***s telling me I should go on my knees because
Dave Noonan gave us 2 tracks months ago. I have a right to ask a question
without getting kicked.
