This thing looks like a neat box to build your custom pedals around.
Hell you can make your own USB shifter too.   Couldn't you buy one of
these and make pedals/shifter to interface with this box?  It uses
regular PS/2 jacks for the clutch/gas/brake.  I was thinking about
maybe doing that myself or possibly buying a TSW pedal unit and wiring
it to the thing... Anyone tried?

I have one of those that came with my gpl shifter. I though about using
the other ports briefly but it's just easier with multiple controllers on
USB ports ;-)

I don't really think that box would be any better a base to build on than
a cheap USB joystick with a brace of buttons & three axies. It would be a
tidier design though.

Haven't done it, but the idea was mentioned in the Build your own hardware
section of RSC.  Should be fairly straight forward, just have to connect the
pots to the right pins. Was looking at using one to connect a homebuilt wheel
and pedals to USB.  The information I found is that the adapter uses an 8bit
ADC, which means 256 points on each axis. This would be good enough for pedals,
but not so great for a wheel.  Certainly wouldn't spend the money on a TSW and
then connect it to one of these. But TSW now has USB kits for it's wheels.

For games like F1C that only see 2 controllers max.... this would be
good I guess.  pedals+shifter on one controller and your wheel on the
other.  :)

Yeah for a wheel it would suck.  I think my MS wheel is at least 1024.
I was thinking about wiring the TSW pedals to it.  They're well
made...  I wonder if they have 256 points as well or maybe they are
higher quality and have more?   I think the AL potentiometers are
100k.  But the box would be good for anyone building a pedal and
shifter.  AL even sells the wiring harness and pots :)
