Act Labs Force RS USB with GP2, N2

by RWDE » Thu, 14 Oct 1999 04:00:00

I installed the Act Labs Force RS USB on my system (Windows 98, Intel 400mz,
128 RAM, Canopus Spectra and Pure 3D II etc.) and it's terrific with GPL.
However, the wheel is not recognized by GP2 or N2. It's installed a controller
6 on my system. The first five device numbers are used by other controllers. I
use Joystick to keep all the controllers hooked up. I just switch to the one I
want at boot up and it loads the correct driver. The other controllers and
drivers are not active. My problem is how do I get the other sims to recognize
the Act wheel? Are these sims only able to find a controller if it is device
#1?Thanks.

Actually, I don't think N2 or GP2 will ever recognize the ACT Labs wheel- it
requires DirectX in order to work, and neither of those titles use DirectX.
I've never been able to get mine to work with ANY DOS-based software, even
if running in a DOS box under Win98.
