how to replay in GP2?

I have made a very nice crash in GP2, braking my Ferrari in two! Was
really great, both two pieces flew over the circuit into other cars.

I have saved the game thereafter. BUT.. how can I replay this?? Is
there a way to watch this again?? Maybe with a view from outside??

Please help, I want to see this crash again!! :-))

Hi Marc !!!
Yes,there is a way. Start the Race again and when you see the broken
car hit the "R" (R=Replay). Now, you can see the last 20 Sec. of your
Race(Crash).
A view from the Outside with Page Up + Down Keys. With Cursor Right
you come Home in your***pit.
Sorry for the very poor English :-((((

Depends when you saved it?
If you saved the game immediately after crashing, either as a hotlap, or
as a saved game, simply reload either the hotlap or saved game from the
drive menu, and when the game starts, if it was saved as a hotlap, you
can watch the whole lap from any view you wish.
If it was a saved game, then when the race starts agian from the point
you saved, simply press pause and then replay, and you can view the car
from any view you wish.

If however, you saved the game as a saved game rather than a hotlap, and
you saved it more than about 30 seconds after your crash, you will not be
able to replay the crash at all!!!!!!

So the m***is this, if you wish to save a particular crash, or
manoeuvre, the best thing to do is save the hotlap, as you can watch the
whole lap over and over again.
If you save the game, you can only view the last 30 seconds or so as a
replay and then continue the game from where you left it, which is not so
good!!!!

how to replay in GP2?

by Marc Her » Tue, 10 Dec 1996 04:00:00

Dear Peter,

I`ve saved the game as a game and when it starts, it is probably 20
seconds after the crash, so I should be able to see it. BUT... I can
press the "R" key over and over, it doesn`t replay!! Are there any
special keys??

When the game starts, there is the PAUSE on the screen, so I press the
space bar and then the game continues. Pressing the R key doesnt
help.

What do I do wrong??

great to know. Thanks.
However, sometimes I want to save a hotlap, for example I had one in
Imola with 1.22 something, but it didn`t save it. It told me "no
hotlap to save". BUT it was the only hotlap I did and the fastest one
of that day! Strange, something wrong??

Further more: Are you familiar with modem to modem play of GP2 ?
I tried it today with a friend, but got only "data mismatch" error
messages and we coulnd`t play.

Thanks for any help!

Please do not post binaries in this newsgroup.  In the future put them
on a ftp or web site or post them to the alt.binaries.simulators.autos.

Thanks.

OK Peter,

I have found out the solution. I had always pressed the space bar
FIRST and then the R key, but I have to leave it in PAUSE mode and
then press the R key. Well, the real crash was unfortunately a bit
before the 30 seconds, but if you want to have a look, my Ferrari
broke in TWO!! :-)
Have fun!

1 - press P for Pause

2 - press R for replay.

The problem is that you're missing the pause. Without it you can't
view the replay
