Will GP3 have the multiplayer option like GP1/2 where you take
it in turns to drive while the computer drives your opponents
car?

Will you be punished when you pass a car under yellow?

Specifications in magazines and the official website confirm this to be in GP3.

James, what he means is, will driving with opposite lock help on, be
faster than with it off. In gp2, u could run with opp lock on, and run
the car more aggresively without fear of spinning, and thus do a
slightly faster lap time. about 0.5secs maximum

Note, all other helps are off.

Every single help should make you go slower! It encourages you to lose
the helps... just like the way gpl does it.

Can u test this please.

Eww, this doesn't sound good. I don't think u understand the
ramifications if someone can drive in slow motion.

In gp2, u could drive in slow motion by putting processer occupancy
above 100%(maximum graphics), then the frames would slow down, but u
still get all the frames, but the "calculated lap time" doesn't
change. Thus, you can do "extremely fast" laps, because your
effectively driving at what feels like 100kmph, when u should be doing
300! All this leads to perfect apexs, perfect braking/acceleration.
And when u finsih the lap...abiet 5 mins later, you've done a perfect
lap... maybe even a world record.... VERY VERY BAD!!!

Is this still present???

So you tested it.   :)

>The reason why GP3 won't support internet is two fold

>1.    The GP3 guys don't believe that you can race on a DUN connection.
>They believe that cable is good.. but not everyone has it..  They obviously
>haven't seen GPL  :-)

>2.    Licensing..  they can't use it with their current licence

I think that (2) leads to (1) - they can't use internet racing
(licensing issues) so therefore they justify the lack of it by their
codswallop about DUN's not being up to it. They obviously can't go
bagging the FIA and Bernie about the licensing issues, otherwise
they'd lose their license.

All we can hope for is that LAN options will be able to be hacked to
allow internet play later on. I think that the chances are pretty
good.

To further this - have they considered a split screen multiplayer on
one computer? The playstation ability for split screens always makes
for an exciting offline race - why don't PC's get this as well????

I' m playing online GPL from Europe (France) with a ...28.8 modem and have no
problem at all since 1.2 patch has been released. What you say doesn't convince
me at all. Who will play GP 3 with a Lan network???? And moreover with 15
buds????

The same argument goes, word for word, for supplying a Linux
port.

The above games have a good track record regarding Linux
versions (not sure about Ultima and / or flight sims, though ;-)

Sadly, I dont think well see GP3 for Linux. This is why I
wont be buying it.

While I'm very pro-Linux (I'd like to play games on it) and hate
Winxx (have to deal with it to play games, would never do development
work on it), it's quite amazing what reasons we heard for not buying
GP3: no internet play, no Linux support. What's next? I don't like
the music being played in the menus...?

After the mediocre F1 2000 (bought it this morning), GP3 will be
very much appreciated, just for the track record of the developer.
