This might be a stupid question to some of you but what is the rendition
version and how do I get it because nothing I d/l works without it.

Thanks.

ICR2 RENDITION

Rendition refers to the company (and chipset) that took the code from
Papyrus, and went and improved ICR2 with 3D accelleration.  Most of
the images (track graphics and such) that are "Rendition Ready" are
16-bit, as opposed to the stock-DOS 8-bit (256-color).  Plus the
fact that these "super-graphics" will run on a lowly-P100 at a solid
30-fps is quite remarkable.

Some of the older cards using the V1000 chipset (Sierra's Screamin'-
3D, Canopus Total-3D, and Intergraph Reactor) can still be found on
a few shelves at bargain prices ($30-50 bucks).  These cards come
bundled with a copy of ICR2-3D - or you can pick up a card without
the CD and find ICR2 (CART Racing) for around $5-10 bucks.  If you
can't find it in stores, then you might find someone willing to
sell you theirs in one of the forums and/or newsgroups.

While these cards are great for Rendition sims and games, they do
little for your overall system performance, so you may see some
slow-down in Win95.  Still worth the (cheap!) investment IMHO.

I love mine.  =)

Cheers!

Marc
