I'm using an 8mb V2 and haven't noticed any problems in the demo or retail
versions. I keep all the graphics options at maximum and it looks great. Good
FPS too.
This sucks. This game isn't very customizable. I came from a Quake/Quake2
background before getting into racing games/sims and just took it for granted
that you could modify virtually anything. About the best you can do is get the
GT hack (Adds a fully-modified career-mode GT car to your single player race.
In the retail version there're also built-in hacks for "***", "sports car",
"sedan", and "airplane".) and fiddle with your Viper skins (using Paint-Shop
Pro or whatever, then importing the skin into the game via the built-in
Paintshop).
Only eight tracks, although they can be raced backwards. I think Dayton is
based on Pocono, but the others, I assume, are just fantasy tracks. Still a lot
of fun though from those eight!
I'd guess the demo version is around 400-450 hp. You can get your career car up
to almost 600 hp (give or take, I'm only in the Pro class as of now) and well
over 200 mph on the Dayton track, but the sense of speed still just isn't
there. MGI has always been of aware of that and just recommend that you use
your F2 and F3 views to get the best sense of speed.
Very good game. Only $30 too. Buy it!
