Another sub one minute thirty announcement - at Silverstone. Just
broke my PB from 1:30.15, with a whopping 1:28.94! Got the combination
of Maggotts, Becketts and Chapel spot on and knew I'd broken my PB.
But when I looked at the times and saw 1:28 my jaw hit the floor!

Now my Silverstone time is better than my Monza time lol :) Gotta love
it :D

Sure, but Rafe's comment is slightly misleading. I don't think I told him
any more than I told you when I sent him the two 1m29s laps (mine and
Mark's). As usual I didn't save the message in the sent items folder (I
delete messages having an attachment from there).

Perhaps, if Rafe still has them he'd be prepared to reproduce my words of
wisdom (if any) here?

Generally, I'm always willing to try and help people get faster/more
consistent, so basically I always "have a minute".

I'm honoured, but like I said before, that line is (c)1998-2001 Mark

Here is the short message Jan sent me, but it doesn't really mean much
unless you watch the replays as well. But the line is a LOT smoother
and easier to get the power down, without that *** bump in Becketts.
Additionally, the line I used to take through Chapel was slow, as well
as inconsistent. Didn't even realise how early I needed to turn in to
get a good line/apex through it. Certainly made a difference when I
got it right though.

Emailing replays ATM.

"The line" is counter-intuitive in the sense it seems to go against
the rule of thumb of driving turn combinations such as to prefer the
exit, which in this case would mean squeezing Becketts a little (which
is what I used to do). Turns out however, that if you run Becketts as
if Chapel weren't there, it's still possible to cut a good line
through the turn and, IMO, it's slightly easier to line up this way.

Well, you're more than likely faster than me at most tracks in GPL
