Thrustmaster Ferrari F1 Racing Wheel - anybody got one?

Just saw one in a store for 200? (approx. 200 US), tax included. I have a
MOMO and never liked Thrustmaster anyway but it woud be nice to get some
Feedback, the MOMO is not going to last forever...

Check the wheel here:

I have one, best FF wheel I've tried so far, including Thrustmasters
original FF wheel (can't remember name), LWFF, Guilemots FF wheel and the
Momo.

Nice large wheel, steel shafts and bearing races, very good pedals with lots
of travel (probably needs half a squash ball under the brake) and loads of
butttons. 240 plus degrees of turn.

I believe it is gear driven rather than belt but feels much less notchy than
the Momo.

There's a bit of play around the center and as usual with TM wheels the
centre is in the wrong place but DXTweak2 solves that.

Cost me the equivalent of $190 US.

Andi.

Thanks for the info Andi. Good to know there are alternatives to Momo.

I have it.  'tis good.  compared to the Momo I'd say the pluses are
the great big powerful motor, more buttons and a hat, and the
paddles.  and the pedals are a lot better than the Momo rig, imho.

on the minus side it's seems a lot less sturdy; there's a bit of
sideways flex, and, to be honest, it sort of feels like the steering
column can snap off if you get a bit too vigorous.  it's pretty notchy
as well but you (well, I) only really feel that when force is off.

don't think about using the two analog handles on the wheel,
though--they're the same axes as the pedals.

I may sound a bit negative here, but the Momo's been sitting neatly in
the closet ever since I got this wheel.

btw; I plan to crack it open and see if I can fit a ball bearing on
the steering column somewehere, and rewire the two wheel mounted
analog paddles to a seperate controller.  has anyone seen any
mod-resources for this wheel, perchance?

Gunnar, mine is no where neear as 'notchy' as the Momo that my son has.

It feels much more sturdy and has ball bearing races on a steel shaft, are
we talking about the same wheel here?
