Nascar and Ensoniq Soundscape

Just got a Gateway 2000 Pentium Pro 200 with the Ensoniq Soundscape
wave table board.

Installed Nascar and the setup program recognized the card and played
the intro and the music fine.

Ran the game and get no sound effects or music (and my joystick, which
is installed on the sound board, isn't recognized either).

Running Win 95, but running Nascar in DOS mode.

Any thoughts from anyone?

Kevin>> I had an Ensoniq that came with my Gateway 2000 P5-133XL, but
the card put me through HELL. It is a good card when it works, but when
it wanted to it brought the system down. I called Gateway and they
finally swaped the card out for a Sound Blaster 16 card. I'll admit that
the Ensoniq had better sound, but I don't miss the conflicts that I had.
Also, I am running a Thrustmaster ACM game card for my stick and
wheel/pedals.  It works very well. No conflicts. But there is a trick to
installing it with Ensoniq. E-mail me and I'll tell you how it's done.
Don't call Gateway because as soon as you tell them anything about
Thrustmaster or any other company they go balistic(especially a female
tech).

Make sure you run 'ssinit /i'.

Thanks for the advice. Greg  Cisko had the answer (really don't want
to lose the wave table). I'll e-mail you for how to install the ACM
with the Ensoniq. The joystick still isn't working perfectly.

Thanks, Greg. That solved my problem.

Great! I have found the Ensoniq to be the perfect gamers card. I have not
had any problems running any games at all; anymore :-) Just make sure you
get the latest Win95/DOS drivers from www.ensoniq.com. I used to have a SB
Pro (in addition to the "E") in my system for compatability. I took it out
& went to an Ensoniq ONLY setup about 6 months ago when I upgraded to a P5.
