by Mark Hol » Fri, 26 Jan 1996 04:00:00

Has anyone else experienced trouble with ICR (1) and Ensoniq
Soundscape? Despite inputting the correct IRQs, selecting SB, ensuring
my SB emulation is working, I still can't get any  _sound_ , music
comes throught just fine though.

486/33 with 8ram, Dos6.2, MS Sidewinder.

Any help gratefully accepted,
Mark

That sound card is not compatible with ICR. You can get some sound by
accelerating to between 60-100 mph and then pausing and unpausing.

The engine sound in ICR (1) is some FM synth. Which the Soundscape doesn't
do very well. THe soundscape does do SB digital perfectly though. The only
solution for ICR (1)  is to have a REAL Soundblaster. THe best solution
might be to get ICR2, where the Soundscape is supported directly. And ICR2
now has digital engine sound...
