Just built an AK72-Athlon 700, 128mb ram, have ordered GPL, and may get
NASCAR 3 .

What video platform is best for papy games, Geforce, or Voodoo?
I'm leaning toward a Geforce DDR card, not the Geforce 2 GTS .
Geforce seems to be the better chip, but is it best for racing simms?

How do Logitech, Microsoft, and ACT Labs stack up for wheel pedal combos,
anything else out there I should look at?

To me, the Microsoft SideWinder FF USB is the bet bet.  It's not
mechanical feeling like the previous version from Microsoft, and
the USB interface is great.  I had a terrible framerate issue
with the early Microsoft Wheel, but not with the USB version.
The newly designed peddal unit is very nice as well.  I get very
accurate throttle and brake response from those pedals.

My second choice would be the Logitech wheel.  I t provides very
nice forces.  However, the pedals aren't to my liking.

The ACT Labs wheel is great for about a year, and then just get
very loose and inaccurate.  The ACT Labs wheel also doesn't do a
very good job with subtle forces like the two wheels listed
above.  However, the ACT Labs wheel does enable you to purchase
the RS shifter...

Overall, all 3 wheels are pretty nice.

  IF GPL and N3 are your target, then a Voodoo 3 or Voodoo 5 should be
your choice.  If you are also planning for GP3, WSC, N4 and other
programs, then you "probably" be better off with the Geforce...although
go for the Gs if at all possible...why hamstring your fairly powerful
chip combo?
  any of the wheels could be a good choice.  MS had some framerate
problems, but I beleive those have been solved with driver updates.  Go
USB if at all possible.

I just purchased the 3Dfx V5500 for my Athlon 750mhz system and in my
opinion it is the best with GPL using the 4X Sample Anti-aliasing mode. Just
awesome.  

The best steering wheel and pedals is the Hyper Stimulator for $795US and
worth every penny.  Being a distributor makes me bias but just ask anyone
